“Vacations should create enough distance to think clearly. That does not mean disappearing completely, which is simply impossible for senior executives, especially entrepreneur founders, CEOs, or majority investors. You always have to be plugged in, to some extent, when you are the key decision-maker at a company. But when I am on vacation, I try to avoid constant reactive communication. Instead of spending the entire day checking messages, I designate specific windows to review critical updates and respond to anything truly important. The rest of the time, I focus on reading, thinking, spending time with family, and getting perspective,” Broidy said.
